Downing Mountain Lodge and Retreat – A Fresh New Look!

This fall has been nothing short of transformative! We’ve been hard at work to make sure both the mountain and the backcountry ski and snowboard lodge are ready to welcome you. Thanks to our partners at USFS, we’ve cleared and burned debris and removed obstacles from the slopes, while our skilled chainsaw teams worked to smooth out the transitions, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable experience in the skiing corridors.

The lodge itself has undergone a beautiful facelift. Our 6-person sleeping loft now features a newly installed lattice safety railing, cozy new curtains, and rugs, offering a warm, inviting space with a perfect view of the great room. Each of our 3 bedrooms has been refreshed with new window coverings, updated lighting, and stylish décor—creating a warm, clean, spacious, and inviting atmosphere.

The great room has also received a makeover with new furniture, décor, and a thorough deep clean to make it even more comfortable and welcoming.

And let’s talk about the kitchen and bathrooms. We couldn’t be happier with how the kitchen has come together—new flooring, cabinets, countertops, fresh paint, lighting, dining table and commercial-grade faucets will make meal prep and congregating a joy. The bathrooms have been given a refreshing update with new paint, flooring, electrical and décor.

We’ve also included a few surprise updates that we’re keeping under wraps.

Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, we can’t wait to share these exciting changes with you. The mountain is ready, the lodge is ready, and we hope you are too!
