Downing Mountain Lodge
Passionately Sharing An Authentic Mountain Experience
Downing Mountain Lodge is a spectacular base camp in the summer and a perfectly remote backcountry retreat in the winter.
Well suited for almost any group looking for a retreat to get away from it all in the Big Sky state. In the winter months of deep snows and cold temperatures, only those groups seeking an exceptional and private backcountry skiing or split snowboarding experience dream of a visit to the lodge. Perched on a ridge two thousand vertical feet above the Bitterroot Valley and still three thousand feet shy of the airy, snow drenched summits, there is no better lodge in Montana to enjoy private, gladed backcountry skiing and a comfortable retreat with your group.
This is an amazing place to stay in a beautiful corner of the world! The lodge has a huge fireplace and an incredible kitchen, the skiing offers something for everyone, and the hot tub and sauna are waiting for you at the end. You could easily take novices right out the back door, and experts with snow safety skills won't have enough time to get it all. The owner John couldn't be a nicer guy, and his place will leave you wanting more!
Absolutely the best true Montana experience coming from a local! So beautiful inside and out with plenty of activities! Unforgettable and highly recommended for any occasion!
Amazing treasure in the mountains with wonderful valley views from the yurt and epic mountain views from the ridge! Great terrain! Hot tub AND SAUNA!!!!
