What Does a Trip Leader Do?

The first step in organizing a backcountry ski and snowboard group trip is having a Trip Leader. This key role involves:

• Coordinating all communications with Downing Mountain Lodge
• Securing your stay dates and making the deposit
• Managing logistics like arrival times, snowmobile shuttles, and optional guiding services

Beyond these essentials, Trip Leaders often delegate group logistics to make the experience more collaborative and enjoyable. This includes:

• Planning menus and purchasing food
• Organizing meal prep and dishwashing teams
• Assigning sleeping arrangements and ensuring everyone has what they need
